In the Golden Mountains of Altai
Today’s program: immersion in the heart of the Altaï Mountains and moments of daily life shared with the Mongolian herders during the Golden Eagle Festival.
Through this beautiful video freshly posted by the Sibweek Production, let’s go to the Altaî, in southern Siberia. Did you know that these mountains are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998? This area has the most complete zone of altitudinal vegetation in central Siberia (steppe, forest-steppe, mixed forest, subalpine vegetation to alpine vegetation)* and hosts some endangered animal species, as the snow leopard.
This adventure led by the “Siberian expeditions Travel Club” will also bring you into the Western part of Mongolia, at the very heart of the Golden Eagle Festival. Also recognized by the UNESCO, this event created 15 years ago is the biggest eagle hunters festival in the world.
