Emilie Lecomte, the new queen of Tor des Geants

A the heart of the Aosta Valley, Emilie Lecomte has just marked the mountain-trail’s history by winning one of the toughest races in the world, the Tor des Geants.

Emilie Lecomte, Quechua mountain-trail partner , closes his season in a brilliant finish with a superb performance on the Tor des Geants in 85 hours and 53 minutes.

A real sportive achievement which offers her the 1st feminine place (9th scratch classment) of the race. The second feminine runner, the Italian Lisa Borzani, has 13 places behind Emilie.

After 336 km and more than 24 000 m of elevation gain, Emilie keeps her legendary smile and entrusted us:

“I love this course and I wanted to push myself to finish a season full of great sensations. I did not have the podium in mind when I started but really want to give everything’s. This first feminine place is the icing on the cake after an amazing race! ”

This is the first time a non-Italian runner wins the Tor des Geants. Emilie also beat the women’s record in this race, it has been held previously by Francesca Paneca in 88 hours and 12 minutes.
