higher than everest

Did you know that somewhere on the island of Hawaii, there is a mountain even taller than Mount Everest?

Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano. Little threatening, it still remains the highest mountain in the world, even if it reaches “only” 4807m high. For if we consider the submerged part of the Pacific Ocean, it actually measures 10 230m. Against 8 848m for Everest.

Not to mention that the summit of Mauna Kea is also one of the most famous in the world for astronomical observation.
